More so than Big Ups' two prior albums, Two Parts Together suffers from a serious lack of refreshing ideas.

Big Ups - "Goes Black"
New TracksCommentHere's a piece of wordy, nerdy, and perturbed-y piece of art punk that's been growing on me lately: Big Ups' Eighteen Hours of Static. "Goes Black" is one of the couple songs the band is letting people stream from their new album, which is out now via Dead Labour Records.
The tracks on this thing really check a lot of boxes for me. It's well-read, aggressive, emotive, and plenty of skilled guitar play with a punk edge. Enjoy!
Big Ups - Eighteen Hours of Static
New Tracks1 CommentStream: Big Ups - Eighteen Hours of Static Eighteen Hours of Static, the debut LP from New York punk outfit Big Ups, is a refreshing half hour of caustic and cathartic post-hardcore. The mix here is muddy, the playing is messy, and the vocals of frontman Joe Galarraga are manic - often searing. But it's all quite glorious in just how simultaneously sincere and abrasive its 11 songs are. Give it a listen above via Stereogum.
Eighteen Hours of Static is out now via Dead Labour and Tough Love.
